Café noir biscuits

I have read a message from Susan Witte about biscuits in the Christmas tree around the war years. When I read it, I remembered that my mother-in-law Minny Jezelin (daughter of Alfred Jezelin, AJEKO) told me that she never wanted to eat 'café noir' cookies since her childhood years. Every year the Christmas tree was decorated at home and there were traditionally 'café noir' biscuits hung in the Christmas tree. When the tree was broken down, my mother-in-law had to eat it because food was not thrown away. At that time she had to eat so many of those cookies (although they are delicious with the coffee) that she never ate such a cookie during her life. Perhaps an idea to activate the tradition of cookies in the Christmas tree.
