Some adjustments are being made to the building which is reflected in an invoice. See building adjustment. Alfred has his regular customers and is steadily expanding his clientele. Schnichels remains a major basic customer. Life resumes slowly. Alfred cuts some things out of the newspaper which he had not done for a long time. See newspaper articles. Before that it was work, sleep, work without a break. He seems to have regained his zest for life. Contact is made with his childhood comrade in Weißwasser and it is agreed that Alfred will visit. At the time, Weisswasser was part of the GDR and it was impossible to get in or out of that country. Eventually it didn't work out in 1966.
