Looking for work

Alfred has plenty of work. Given his age, he does not take big risks and deliberately keeps his business small-scale with a view to his retirement. Nor does he feel like having to work with a lot of labourers anymore; he would have to expand too much and take on employees like in the good old days in Hemiksem. Sometimes, he has to scold the workers (two of them) for not doing their job properly. Alfred pays well (he always has) but demands nothing less than perfection. Whenever he hears about a glassworks that is looking for a manager, he is eager to apply, even though he is 61 years old. :!: See Job application.

Dispute with Schnichels

Despite the fact that Schnichels is one of his main customers, Alfred does not shy away from a discussion and is not afraid to use tough language. And yet Schnichels keeps ordering despite the hard written exchanges. :!: See Schnichels.

Bad-payments

The economy is slowing down a bit and the payment system is feeling the effects. Alfred himself always pays his suppliers on time. If he encounters a problem, he contacts them immediately to indicate what can be done and then keeps his promise. His customers, on the other hand, hide easily. Knowing Alfred, he is not soft if you cheat him, he will read you the levites in his own way. :!: See payment reminders.

Difficulties with health insurance

He is also in trouble with the health insurance. They do not answer his questions so he promptly changes his insurance. :!: See health insurance.

Fritz Jochmann jr

It has been a while since Jochmann has been in the picture. Alfred receives a card from Murano in Italy. The comment he writes in red says it all. Jr. has disappointed him at the time. Alfred has only a high opinion of his father. :!: See Jochmann jr.

All in all, 1967 does not run on wheels but he manages to hold its own.
