History

Wilhelmina died in Duffel in hospital due to the failure of her organs. She was addicted for years to the popular Dr. Mann powders, which brought her down. :!: See dr. Mann. After Alfred's actual divorce, she had found peace when she met a widower Louis Van den Bulk in 1954 with whom she was happy. Unfortunately, that happiness was not to last long, as her life companion died. There was nothing left for her but to work as a waitress in café Luna in Statiestraat,37 in Antwerp in 1962. She lived for a while with her daughter and finally died in the hospital in Duffel. Alfred's daughter always reported important events by letter or telegram, even though they had no contact with each other.

In a reply to Schnichels about some dispute, he cites the death of his wife. It is full of pent-up anger. Yet Wilhelmina Koos was the woman of his life. Her pathological jealousy, fed by a fear of abandonment, and a charlatan fortune teller costing loads of money, ruined everything. Alfred only discovered the latter in Grevenmacher when they were actually separated. They had nothing to lose when they ran AJEKO in Hemiksem, but the jealousy devil drove Wilhelmina to despair. This manifested itself in slapping the employees in the face, invective, etc. At a certain point, she left their home and had an seizing made, as a result of which Alfred was out of work for six months, no production, no income, loss of contract and the wage costs of his best employees, whom he continued to pay, etc. After a reconciliation, they went to Grevenmacher where things went wrong again. He then strongly hesitated to take her back in, but he realised that it would bring him down and turned his heart to stone. 15 years later, it is very high in his mind that he lost everything because of his wife's pathological jealousy.
