Frau Schünzel

Since Frau Schünzel rents a room in her house, Alfred can no longer do much good in her eyes. Alfred is, of course, not very happy about this. On 10-10-1970 he wrote down his complaints in a note. It is not clear whether he actually broke up with her. She also worked as a packer for Alfred. :!: See Frau Schünzel.

Health

Alfred is now 65 and starts suffering from all sorts of ailments. He was so minded that he only accepted a diagnosis of a disease that pleased him. He was always careful and followed the rules not only for himself but also for his workers. In Rishon-le-Zion, he wrote to the company management informing them that they were not following the safety rules. Apparently his bile is bothering him and so he must have X-rays taken and receive the necessary medication. :!: See bile examination.

Customers

Alfred has his hands full and keeps going. He works for several customers and is forced to refuse orders because he cannot find glassblowers (who want to work to his standards). :!: See Wittig. With his basic client it is open war and, as crazy as it sounds, they keep placing orders and Alfred keeps producing. The correspondence shows that Schnichels are constantly putting pressure on Alfred. They know that he is at the end of his career and try to persuade him to leave his business or to lease it out. Alfred does not yield to this pressure. He screams blue murder, but when he is wronged, he switches to stubborn resistance and does not give in. In the enclosed examples of letters exchanged in 1970, you can read how business was conducted between Alfred and Schnichels. It's hot stuff. :!: See Schnichels. The orders will continue next year.
