1982 Life goes on as usual, Alfred no longer makes glass
History
Contact with the person of Hemiksem is maintained (provided that 100 DEM are sent regularly). Alfred does not learn much beyond the state of the weather and the political situation in Hemiksem. The person from Hemiksem also visits him in Euskirchen and is well received.
In 1973 Alfred has met a married woman and she persuades him to guarantee her nose operation for DEM 2,000. He had some questions about this. What happens next is unknown. Later correspondence shows that she is related to someone at Cristal Blumenau.
He regularly cuts out some 'wichtig (important news)' from the newspaper and keeps these clippings.
Health
Apart from the known illnesses, Alfred has an ear problem this time. The doctor diagnoses chondrodermatitis nodularis belisis, which is a benign growth on the rim of the ear, usually on the side where he sleeps the most.
Customers
Alfred receives a letter from Blumenau, of which only the cover is found in his archive, together with a photograph.
